First Tooth

Baby

Patrick cut his first tooth. As a pleasant surprise he hardly fussed at all. I figured since he was so fussy about everything else, that teething would be a real challenge. So far it's been one of the easiest phases we've experienced. There's still quite a few more teeth to go however.

In other baby news, we let him "cry it out" last weekend, and it worked out pretty well. The first night Patrick screamed for almost 3 hours before settling down and falling asleep. The second night, it only took 15 minutes. Now it takes less than 5 minutes before he falls asleep. And as an added bonus, he's actually sleeping through the whole night too!

The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Baby
Hurrah! Patrick slept through the night! Outside of a small whimper at 8:30, he didn't stir once until 5:30am this morning. The universe needed some amount of balance though, because I didn't sleep at all after 2am.

Red Dwarf Returns, and Ends

Hollywood
I've been thinking a lot about Red Dwarf a lot lately. Mostly because I have a bunch of the episodes archived on a media server I've been trying to stream to my XBOX 360 lately... but that's a story for another article sometime.

Regardless, I was thinking that Red Dwarf must surely be dead now. Any promise of another season seems so empty. The first season was back in 1988, and it took them 11 years to make just 52 episodes. The last new material is almost 10 years old now. The writing duo of Rob Grant and Doug Naylor split up years ago. So imagine my surprise when I found out today that not only is the show coming back, but that they'll actually be closing the story out.

Yes it's just two episodes instead of the typical six episode series, but it's still written by one-half of the original writers. And honestly, if they had made a full six episodes, five of them would have probably been lame. So good move making only two.

The whole cast is supposed to return: Lister, Rimmer, Kryten & the Cat. But there's no word of Kristine Kochanski or Holly. Anyway, it's airing in the BBC... so unless you plan on pirating the video this Easter I wouldn't expect to see it in the US for another year or so.

Hollywood
In a recent interview, the adorable Kristin Chenoweth announced that a Pushing Daisies movie is being considered to wrap up all the loose ends. Hurrah!
